50 first dates analysis

there is carribean diegetic music as film starts, scene of a sunset beach is in the shot as it pans across to a pineapple. as the pineapple comes across the screen the scene fades to a scene of two women talking in a kitchen, whilst this is happening the names of the film company and director come up across the bottom in wavey sea-like writing. the music dies down as the two women begin to talk about a certain man "Henry Roth" (Adam Sandler) there is a montage of shotsog a series of women talking with the low diegetic music used as sound bridges. each of them is carrying on a conversation of how "Henry Roth" swept them off there feet in hawaii. when this is finished there is a straight cut to Henry Roth convincing a pretty, young women that he is a spy and cannot give his number away. Here the music dies down and the film begins. The music writing and the contents, set up the film very well. It gives you a very warm holiday feeling and introduces the main character "Henry Roth" (Adam Sandler) very well as we are led to believe he is abit of a womeniser and picks his targets as holiday goers to the island on which he lives.
